two thousand and twelve.

i have been so regretfully absent in this little nook of my life that has been fulfilling for me, enlightening for me, and healing for me. it's funny - i started this blog in 2009 (eeek) and found that i turned to it most when i needed to get something out, let something go (or try to), or share something through my fingers that could somehow lighten my heart.

i love this about my blog. and i admit this about myself.
but coffee and wine was meant to be much much more.
and i shall return with that in the new year, and you can read, or not read, when this happens.

following my post about Rodolfo the Tailor back in July, life indeed changed for me - and i lost my blog "spirit fingers" a little bit. you see life plopped a boy, a charming real one in front of me, and he caused the ground to shift beneath my feet and phone calls and skyping and plane flying to take precedence over   the vino and joe world of words.

my entrance into 2012 was unique from any other, because it was wrapped with genuine love with this human - with someone i didn't know existed in July when i tearfully wrote about Rodolfo the Tailor. i would know he existed just one week later from that blog entry, forcing me to subscribe to the notion that sometimes, when you least expect it.... you realize those horribly cliche, cheesy sayings, actually must come from somewhere. and you realize you are that horrible cheesy girl, actually using them.

i learned a lot in 2011.
i learned to have patience in trying times. to not rush the heart or the gut as it sorts itself out.
i learned i have no choice but to be open to long distance when the human you were meant to meet happens to live over an ocean.
i learned i have enough clothes from anthropologie - and not enough plane tickets over the atlantic.
i learned i am an equally obsessed with almond butter as i am house hunters international.
i learned best friends do indeed carry you through the parts of the year that you need carrying.
and i learned you will in turn, carry them if the need should ever come.
i learned people and hearts can make the world feel pretty small.

to truckloads of love and fulfillment ... and as i heard from one yogi, "to a year of intentions made manifest".

Namaste, and Happy New Year.
XO,
CW
