weekend getaways and one watch later.

myself and four solid footwear team colleagues left dongguan, china to spend about 24 hours in the amazing city of hong kong before returning to dongguan for another week. i have decided i am going to write a separate blog on why my all male colleagues are fantastic to travel with. its like having a gaggle of brotherly/fatherly/unclely (is that a word?) humans who just look out for the chick. be it a small bladder and frequent stops, a weak stomach and help turning away certain foods without offending a culture, or making sure i turn away to avoid seeing something very tragic, scary, and unfortunately common in the place we were in china... they are seriously the best. the best as in just good human beings.

and tonight in hong kong i had 3 of them with me to stare across the table as i bargained down the price of a replica cartier watch. one mouthed certain things i should say, as another tapped my knee under the table to signal me to hold strong on my low offer, and the third inspected the extra links to make sure they were threaded... (something i know nothing about). all in all i am going to give myself plenty of credit, as it was a well played, well crafted bargain. i left the tiny, smokey, shady room that took a very sketchy maze to get to... with an awesomely-replicated Cartier Watch. It's an oversized mens because i just love the look on a fairly small wrist.... L O V E . (pictured left.... mine looks identical).

and yes it is totally fake.
but to me looks just like the real one.
and it was completely worth 80 bucks.
and i am lucky to work with great humans.
