twizzlers and dusty quarters.

i work on the 5th floor at my job. there is a vending machine on the 1st floor. this is a day that started out with a 6:30AM video conference with Japan, and included wolfing down a ham and provolone sandwich at my desk in between mayhem, (there's a miniscule piece of tomato stuck between the 'K' and 'L' button).

prior to a 3pm meeting, i needed a snack.
i wanted something sweet.

i rushed down to the 1st floor. (this is a big building), and with 75 cents in my pocket i was met with no item less than 80 cents. really!?!?

i stood there. i didn't have time to go back up, come back down, and not be late for my meeting for the obvious reason i needed something sweet.

i was thinking quickly. i checked the change slots to see if maybe someone left a nickle. nope. hmm. wait, what if.... so i crouched down, and there it was, a circle about 2 feet under the vending machine. i reached, slid it toward me, and got it. a once shiny, but now dusty quarter.

i bought my 80 cent twizzlers and even had 2 dimes to put into the back of my skinny jeans pocket.
sometimes its the little things life gives us. and i'll take it with a smile.

xo,
cw

  1. Hi Claire,

My name is Colin, and a few months back I sent you a message with some suggestions as how to fix the problems you have been having with the left side of your body, relating my experience with the problems I had with the right side of my body that left me out of running for a year and a half, as both a piece of motivation and evidence that it can be fixed. Just wondering if you ever got this, and if anything I suggested may have helped? The length of my message may have been a bit...much, but it was purely for the intention of trying to throw a good deed your way. Hope all is well.
